This situation could involve scammers trying to obtain a voice print or determine if my number is active. A good practice is not to answer calls from unknown numbers. Also, I recommend changing your voicemail to the provider's default to prevent any AI from capturing your voiceprint.
Flagged by phone as spam. Fits the pattern of scam calls I've been getting (I block them with an app called Calls Blacklist Pro, recommended). If it's not a landline number then it's a "spare" mobile number, ie not assigned to a real person yet so it's a spoofed number. These people have been trying really hard to get through, I block anything not in my contacts list and if they're not in there then it's almost always scammers. If you're on the Do Not Call Register and you get any caller claiming to be from some company then it's not a legitimate Aust. business.
