Over a decade of community-reported mobile interactions, broken down by classification, prefix block, and carrier allocation - revealing where reports concentrate and what patterns emerge across the 04 numbering range.
About Mobile Number Classification
All Australian mobile numbers are allocated under the 04 prefix block, managed by ACMA as part of the national numbering plan. Within this range, sub-prefixes (041x through 049x) are assigned to individual carriers - a detail that matters because report concentration varies significantly across these allocations.
The dataset below draws from community-submitted interaction records spanning over a decade. Because mobile numbers are portable between carriers and frequently recycled, allocation data reflects the original registering provider, not necessarily the current operator.

Report Concentration by Prefix
The 048x range consistently accounts for the largest share of mobile reports - a pattern tied to carrier-specific numbering allocations and number recycling within that block, rather than geographic factors. ACMA's numbering allocation register provides the underlying carrier assignments.

Most-Reported Mobile Numbers
Ranked by total community reports. A high count signals sustained attention from contributors, though it does not by itself confirm malicious activity.
Report counts here follow numbering allocations, not operational responsibility - carriers with larger number blocks naturally appear higher. A carrier leading this list does not imply its subscribers are more likely to make unwanted calls; it reflects the size and recycling rate of its allocated number pool.
