Received a call from someone that sounded Indian - that wonderful group of people who seem to make a career of making dodgy calls. Hung up.
I did not recognize this number, so I chose not to answer. They did not leave a message. When I called back, I received a recorded message stating, "temporary service difficulties prevent connection." I have since blocked the number.
22/7/2024 - call from unknown number 0485981495 blocked by my free version of the TruCaller app. Checked here first for info and see that although no reviews and not yet known if this is a scam number or not, nearly 140 people searched this number yesterday alone compared to 0 the day prior. Mmn - sounds suspicious to me!
Anyway, I turned off the display of my caller IF and dialled back.
So, let me provide the first review on this number: Female British voice recording saying thank you for calling “customer service”. The message gives you 3 options one of which is to leave your number for a call back. No mention of any company name, which you would expect would normally form part of the recorded message (e.g. Thank you for calling Coca Cola Head Office…blah, blah).
So - my verdict? SCAM NUMBER!
An Indian lady began speaking when I answered, but hung up once she realized it was my voicemail. My phone had previously alerted me that this number has been reported as a telemarketer, and in the background, I could hear multiple voices talking, although their conversation was indecipherable.
