The caller claimed to be from Amazon, but I found it suspicious and chose to hang up without further engagement.
Similar experience to the person above - calling from 'Bayside City Council' and asked for information about age bracket, marital status and home etc. Then hung up. Confirmed with the council that this was not genuine.
The caller claimed to be from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) conducting a survey. They mentioned that if I answered their five questions, I wouldn't have to deal with another call later. However, when I expressed my refusal to answer, they abruptly stated that they would call back and then hung up on me.
When I answered this call, a female voice began reading a sales pitch. I ended the call quickly. I wonder if the new government could take effective action to stop these unsolicited sales calls.
0485881284 (or possibly any variation that includes the numbers 0485 87...0485 88, avoid all, appears to be a scam set of numbers). Claimed to be from the Hepburn Shire and were doing a Population in Daylesford survey. Asked questions regarding age, work full time/part time and whether I was single, married, or in a defacto relationship. When I said I was single, they questioned whether I had a partner and said that I said I was single so what do they not understand from me saying this and they hung up. Reported number and call to the Hepburn Shire who have no idea of the survey.
This number called me at 8 am I didn’t answer the call because no one I know calls me before 9.
So must be a scam or a telemarketer.
This was yet another bothersome call that was conducting a survey, which I found intrusive.
The person on the line claimed to be from the council and became upset when I questioned their legitimacy. They started asking me about my travel outside the country, which felt inappropriate.
I had a similar experience to the previous report – I told them to leave me alone after they mentioned something about the ABS.
The caller claimed to be from ABS and conducting a survey. When I questioned their authenticity, they abruptly hung up. This behavior raises suspicion.
