Decided to answer what I was sure was a robocall out of curiosity. Being a state public holiday I wasn't surprised when greeted by the very obvious international call centre connection delay-followed by a loudbeep.
Realising it wasn't the auto recording I was expecting but an actual person on the line, squalked a random loud noise in greeting. I was introduced in very heavily accented english to mattmichael who clearly was thrown by the wierd squalking noises coming from his headset & forgot his own name.
After a few more encouraging hmmmms & squalks from me he finally located his script & launched into the employment scam spiel.
Stayed on theline long enough for him to spell out the company name twice before I disconnected & blocked the call. Scam call and scam website offering eye wateringly well paid employment opportunities available in australia for international job seekers. A quick search and bingo- live scam site www.workinaustralia.com.au- be careful.
This bloke called and it was like a dodgy movie! There was a weird delay, then a heavy-accented "Michael" from some site about getting jobs in Oz. Didn't bother hanging around for the spiel, just blocked the number straight away!
So, I answered this call with some weird delay before I could hear this heavily accented bloke claiming to be Matt... or Michael or whatever the hell his name was. The script he read was all about some dodgy employment scam. I just made some noises and sorted him right out.

The caller addressed me by name, even though I had not provided it. They claimed to be traveling from Melbourne to Sydney. As I don't know anyone in that situation, I suspect this may be a scam.
