Scam. Automated message about my Amazon Prime account being debited $99. Don’t have a account.

P

Scam.

This one was actually doing the rounds a few years back. Pre recorded message saying they will debit an amount from your account for Amazon subscription. If you wish to cancel do this blah blah... Just blocked it.

I hardly ever answer calls from anyone I don't know. I figure if it's important enough, they will leave a message. However, sometimes if I get a few missed calls from the same number, with no left message, then I try ringing it back. Most times I get a pre-recorded message of a lottery/raffle company (like mater). Other times the call won't even go through.

Anyway, another one bites the dust.

I answered a call from this number without saying anything, and they hung up rather quickly without speaking. It feels like a scammer who wasn't prepared to engage. I find it amusing that they didn’t bother to speak, and I wish they would at least have the confidence to do so, or perhaps consider finding a legitimate job.

This number called my mobile on February 13, 2023, at 12:40 PM. Since I didn’t recognize the number, I didn’t answer, and no voicemail was left. To me, that indicates it’s not worth pursuing further.

I did not recognize this number and chose to ignore it. When I tried to return the call later, I encountered an engaged tone. I previously received a scam call regarding a fake Amazon account—one that I do not have—and subsequently blocked that number. After checking online, I've discovered that this new number is also reported as an Amazon scam. I will be blocking this number as well.

I got a call from this number at the usual time (lunchtime), hoping my guard is down, but it was not. I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message - checked Reverse AU, a scammer as always. I rarely answer my phone these days.
