Repeated Scam Calls and Robocalls from 0468 208 642
Contributors have flagged 0468 208 642 (also written as 0468208642) for persistent unwanted contact spanning several years. The pattern involves repeated calls using spoofed landline numbers combined with automated robocall technology. One long-term contributor notes that calls from 0468 numbers consistently originate from the same scam operation, with callers varying their approach by spoofing different state-based landline prefixes depending on timezone.
The tactics employed by 0468 208 642 suggest a coordinated, industrial-scale operation. One contributor received a robotic voicemail that repeated the same message twice, a common technique used in automated scam campaigns. Another report describes a caller claiming to be a web designer, suggesting the scammers rotate through different cover stories to evade detection.
Calling Patterns and Spoofing Behaviour
Contributors report that 0468 208 642 operates on a predictable schedule. One contributor, after years of receiving calls from this number and related 0468 numbers, identified a pattern: calls typically arrive in the morning, just after lunch, or between 6 pm and 8 pm (adjusted to match the timezone of the spoofed landline number). For example, if the spoofed number starts with 07 (Queensland), the call arrives during Queensland evening hours, regardless of the recipient's actual location.
This timing pattern suggests the scammers are operating from a centralised operation using automatic dialling systems to target large contact lists. One contributor described receiving calls from 0468 numbers for years and noted that NetSIP-associated calls follow the same pattern, indicating these may be related operations or infrastructure.
What Callers from 0468 208 642 Say
Reports indicate callers from 0468 208 642 use minimal scripts to avoid detection. One contributor who answered received a simple claim: "I'm a web designer." The lack of detail suggests the caller was attempting to establish initial contact to determine if the number was active, a common first step in multi-stage scam campaigns.
In other instances, 0468 208 642 relies entirely on robocall automation. One contributor received a robotic voicemail repeating "thanks for calling" twice in succession, with no attempt at a human conversation. This suggests the operation uses automated systems to generate call volume and flag active numbers for follow-up contact.

What Our Users Reviewed
Flagged by phone as a scam number. I have been getting these calls for years, so now I never answer any caller unless they are in my contacts list. Always, all calls from 0468 numbers have been scammers. Same goes for all calls from NetSIP. Usually it's some random landline number, they either call in the morning, just after lunch time, or what would be around 6 to 8 pm for the timezone they are spoofing (eg. If the number starts with 07, then it will come at between what would be 6 pm and 8 pm for Queensland, though I don't live there)
Anyway it's definitely the same scammers who have been trying to get through for years. I have resolved to never pick up their calls again, ever, and I recommend you do the same. If some mobile caller rings then I'm sorry but even if they're legitimate, they'll have to text first and tell me who they are and why they're calling, otherwise I'm not going to pick up, and that's how you have to do it now that the criminal gangs have industrialised phishing and scam calls.
Said they were a web designer
Robotic voicemail just repeating thanks for calling twice
Missed call from a number I don't recognise

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why does 0468 208 642 call at specific times of day?
One contributor identified that 0468 208 642 uses spoofed landline numbers and times calls to match the spoofed number's timezone. For example, if the spoofed number starts with 07 (Queensland), the call arrives during Queensland evening hours (6-8 pm), creating the impression the caller is local. This sophisticated timing suggests an automated dialling system operated by the same scam organisation behind multiple 0468 numbers.
Should I answer calls from 0468 208 642 to see who it is?
No. A contributor who received years of calls from 0468 208 642 and related numbers strongly recommends never answering calls from 0468 numbers. Instead, let them go to voicemail, block the number, and only accept calls from contacts already in your phone. If legitimate callers need to reach you, they should text first with their identity and reason for calling.
What does the robotic voicemail from 0468 208 642 indicate?
One contributor received a robotic message saying "thanks for calling" twice, which indicates 0468 208 642 is using automated dialling and voicemail systems rather than live scammers. This is typical of industrial-scale scam operations that use automation to generate high call volumes and identify active phone numbers for later targeting.
Is 0468 208 642 related to other 0468 numbers and NetSIP calls?
Yes. A long-term contributor reports that all calls from 0468 numbers have consistently been scammers, and calls from NetSIP-associated infrastructure follow the same spoofing and timing patterns. This suggests 0468 208 642 is part of a coordinated scam operation using multiple numbers and VoIP infrastructure.
What should I do if I accidentally answered 0468 208 642?
If you answered 0468 208 642, do not provide any personal information, do not agree to anything, and hang up immediately. Block the number right away. The fact that you answered may result in more calls from 0468208642 and related numbers as your number is now flagged as active. Report the call to ACMA at acma.gov.au and add your report to Reverseau.
Where can I report 0468 208 642?
Report 0468 208 642 to ACMA (acma.gov.au) for robocalls, Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) with details of any claims made, and the Do Not Call Register (donotcall.gov.au). Also report 0468208642 on Reverseau to warn other Australians. Include the date, time, and any spoofed numbers used in your reports.
