Classification: Suspicious Telemarketing
Based on reviews, the nature of the calls from this number indicates a coordinated telemarketing effort, potentially attempting to promote government-funded initiatives. Users reported interactions with a caller who began sharing details about household grants related to solar energy. This raises flags for several reasons:
- Common Telemarketing Practices: The strategy of offering government grants could be an enticing hook, used frequently by telemarketers to gain consumer trust.
- Disconnected Number: One user noted that when they called back, the number was found to be disconnected. This can often suggest the call may not have been from a legitimate source.
- Standard Telemarketing Patterns: Telemarketers often use standard pitches for government programs, trying to push products or services rather than genuine grant information, which sometimes leads to confusion about their legitimacy.

- Block the Number: Once verified as telemarketing or suspicious, blocking such numbers can help avoid future disturbances.

Thank you, I just received a call from this number, I did not pick up as do not recognise it. There was no message left. Thank you for your assistance.
Rang. Girl started a spiel about how the Government has a grant for households. She didn’t get any further as I knew where this was going. Trying to install something or sell something solar. So maybe not a scam but more one of those call centres for some government light globe/solar/draft elimination (something Labor is wasting taxpayer money on).
I chose not to answer this call, and they did not leave a voicemail. When I tried to return the call later, I discovered that the number had been disconnected.
I received a call from a woman who started talking about a grant for households provided by the government. However, I quickly realized this was a sales pitch for installing solar systems or other related products. While it may not be a full scam, it's more of a call center approach trying to sell government-funded energy solutions, which could be wasteful of taxpayer money.
