0468 001 689 - Spammer/scammer.
(03) 9003 8253 - When a callback is made to this unknown number (within minutes) the message is that this number is not connected.
(02) 4095 2990 - Indian male in noisy call centre claimed to be Alex Wilson from PayPal security. Said the reason for the call was that there were a number of suspicious transactions linked to my PayPal account for Bitcoin purchases. I don’t have a PayPal account. I acted blasé and asked him how much the Bitcoin purchases were and he rattled off “$399, $399, and oh my gawd there is a charge for $699” I said “yeah I know about these, I make these purchases” He seemed to be a bit confused and said “well ma’am that is good that you know about these, but while we were talking, someone has made a large purchase on your account” I said “yes, that’s my husband doing a bit of shopping” But the scammer was still trying to reel me in and said “look ma’am maybe we have the wrong PayPal account here, can you read me out so details…. “ I cut him off and said “everything is fine, all the purchases you see on your system have been approved by me” Then I hung up and blocked his number. I know he is a scammer. I don’t have PayPal, don’t use Bitcoin and lastly, I need to know the answer to this… why do most indian scammers, who can barely speak English think we are that stupid that that mostly use WILSON as their surname? I mean come on, be a little bit more creative.
0475 549 062 - Scammer trying to bait me. Got a call from this number, and when I answered, was greeted with silence, however there was the typical call centre yelling noise in the background. I said hello again and the caller hung up on me. Called the number back so I could return the favour, but got a recording saying the number was not in service. I am sick of these scammers wasting our time.
(02) 8647 3808 - Missed a call from this number. I called it back as I’m hoping to hear from people I have applied for jobs. When I called this number, I got a recorded message saying the number I had dialled is not connected. Can only speculate that this was a scammer as you can reach them by returning calls.
0497 409 241 - Had several missed calls from this number. I called it back and got the recorded message “the number you have called is not in service” Stop calling me spammers & scammers. Blocked number.
