SCAM/FRAUD/PHISHING. Just received a similar email to that listed by Freitag yesterday. Fake laptop order and shipping note with an outstanding balance to be paid and with instructions to call their Fraud Protection Team on +61 1800 879 075 if I hadn't placed the order!
This is a scam number, as confirmed by others who received a similar message claiming to be from Amazon. The message stated that I had purchased a laptop and included a fraudulent link to contact a "Fraud Protection Team" for assistance.
I received an email supposedly from Amazon saying that my item was on the way although a balance was still outstanding. The email included this phone number (1800 879 075) as the number of their Fraud Protection Team in case I had not placed the order. Obviously a scam because I had indeed not placed the order and the sender's email address was not Amazon's. Receiving a call from a bogus number is not the only way to be scammed - you can be invited to call the number yourself in an email. I deleted the email and ignored the number.
The caller pretended to be from a store I shopped at, stating, "Dear Customer, thank you for shopping with us. We will send a confirmation when your items ship. Please note, if you haven't placed this order, contact our Fraud Protection Team immediately at 1800 879 075 for faster assistance."
