I received an invoice that initially appeared to be genuine. However, since I do not have a PayPal account, it raised a red flag. The caller then requested that I call a different number to modify an order they claimed I had made for Bitcoin, which I did not order at all. I believe this is a scam.
The caller claimed to be from Microsoft, stating that our account had been hacked. They requested remote access by asking me to upload screen mirroring software to my computer and then urged me to log into my bank account. This raised immediate red flags as it seems like a phishing attempt.
Similar to a previous report, I received an email about a charge and a callback number that matched this one. I did not call back because I am concerned about how the sender obtained my email address. It raises red flags for me; I'm wondering if they hacked into Restoro’s customer list or if they target various products, hoping to find someone with an active subscription.
I thought I have a bit of fun with this scammer, I eventually got to talk after repeated attempts to what sounded like an indian operator, he was willing to do an immediate refund for me, How nice of him. Proceeded by giving instructions to me on how to log my computer into a site called UltraViewer, this in turn would have allowed him to log into my computer, At this point I told him I will not allow access to my computer. He got angry and asked why I was not listen, I then told him he is a scam that I have already reported him to the ACCC scam watch. He hung up....
Have fun with them, waste their time but do not allow them access to your computer.
I received the exact email - when I called the number, they requested I 'turn on' my computer to complete an online form request for a refund, LOL as if! Please do not engage with these scammers.
I received a similar spam email from a company named Restoro, stating that they charged $399.99 to my account. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm curious to know if you got a response when you called the number back.
I have just received exactly the same email as WESTERMAN received above. Same wording - even the same Invoice Number of 4157-7638!
If I got the same Invoice Number as WESTERMAN, then it's got to be a scam!
Hi, we recently received an email regarding the same matter from someone named Bruce Martin, who claims to be the account manager at RESTORO. However, the email came from an @outlook address, which seems suspicious. We tried calling the same number you listed — did you manage to get any answers?
The caller claimed to be from a company called Restoro and informed me that they were going to charge my credit card for services that I do not utilize. This raises concerns about potential fraud.
Restora Scam. Extremely rude man!! Block, they will send you an email, you will call to dispute then they will request you to authorise a refund in which scam you for money. Report if you receive a call, it’ll help block the number.
