My phone identified this call as spam, so I safely blocked and deleted it without answering.
I received a call from this number regarding my energy supplier. When I informed the caller that I rent and that all services are managed by my onsite manager, she insisted that I was a homeowner. I found this confusing since I clearly stated my situation. The call was accompanied by background noises typical of a call center, and the overall audio quality was very poor.

Personally, I do not answer calls from unrecognised numbers unless I am told the call will be a non ID number and I am expecting it. Otherwise, if it is important enough, they will leave a message. If no message is left, I will look up the number especially if I am expecting a call. If it is a mobile and the last digits seem familiar, I will also look it up especially if the first 4 digits are the same (high probability of a scam) to warn others. Other things will stand out as a scam (as you learn over time). It get’s boring and tedious because of the number that end up being scams but try to overcome this by warning others. Again, I figure if important, they will call back as some do not leave a message. Of course this is difficult if you answer calls as part of your job, or personally owned business for example. If it is a scam (based on several reviews by others) goes straight to block obvs.
When I don’t answer a call from a number I do not recognise (unless it is expected), this strategy allows me to automatically avoid scams. If I receive a text from my own bank for example, I will call the bank to verify. Never provide identity or financial information to a call you received. Use your gut, it is always right. If it seems too good to be true, it is. Don’t feel embarrassed or shamed if someone scammed you, it is the perpetrators fault (they are manipulative, coercive, friendly etc) and their demeanour may change if you don’t act quickly or sometimes they won’t let on so as to not cause alarm. If you are suspicious, cut the call by saying something has come up, and request their number and company name (if not given). Their answer will usually provide some details.

This caller inquired about my solar panels, asking how many I have and when they were installed. They kept pushing about any government rebate I might be getting. Although they claimed they were not trying to sell me solar systems, they continued to ask probing questions about the rebate. I eventually hung up because they were being quite persistent and irritating.
I received a robocall that started with, "Thank you for calling customer service..." It seemed very suspicious and untrustworthy.
