0483 903 825 has stirred confusion among recipients, being flagged as both spam and legitimate charity outreach. Learn how to manage your calls from this number and discern its true nature.
When it comes to unsolicited calls, one number that seems to have raised eyebrows among many Australians is 0483 903 825. This number has been reported by various users and can be categorized as a suspicious telemarketing call, with complaints ranging from hang-ups to claims of legitimate charity outreach.
Initial user reports suggest a troubling pattern—many recipients experience calls that are abruptly disconnected. For instance, multiple users reported instances where the caller would hang up shortly after the conversation was answered. This echoes common traits of spam calls designed to waste time or gather information. Moreover, one user pointed out that receiving no voicemail often suggests a scam attempt, leaving many to deduce that 0483 903 825 is primarily used for dubious purposes.
However, contrasting views exist and bring a different perspective to this number. Some users clearly identified the number as associated with "Clever Contacts," a firm involved in charity campaigns such as those for Surf Life Savers and Amnesty International. Confirmations of calls providing updates rather than seeking additional donations indicate that at least part of this number's operation is legitimate and related to charitable notifications.
This mixed reception raises an essential question for consumers: how should one handle calls from 0483 903 825? Here are a few strategies:
- Screen Calls: Use caller ID features or applications like Google Call Screen to determine if it's a genuine corporate or charitable position.
- Do Not Engage: If you suspect spam, hang up immediately, as staying on the line can sometimes lead to further complications.
- Block the Number: If the calls become intrusive without any legitimate conversations, don’t hesitate to block the number.
- Report Suspicious Activity: Providing feedback on platforms like Reverseau can help others identify potentially annoying or scam calls.
In conclusion, while 0483 903 825 has its fair share of critics labelling it a spam threat, it's clear that it might also operate as a legitimate outreach from charitable organisations seeking to connect with existing supporters. By staying informed and cautious, you can manage similar calls while determining their purpose, ensuring your phone lines remain free from unwanted telemarketers or scam activities. Another unknown number... If legit they should leave a message... Have blocked the call.
I answered and the caller was calling on behalf of Amnesty International who I support. They were not seeking more money! They were providing an update in some of the projects or appeals that my support has contributed to.
So may be from other charities or NFP’s seeking donations or support if you do not already support any!
Not Spam, people trying to do their jobs.
Simply say no thanks!
The number is Clever Contacts calling on behalf of Surf Life Savers.
Used Google Call Screen and they hung up very quickly, just like all marketing / scam calls.
Answered phone call and after a few seconds the caller hung up. Definitely a spam caller.
Called back and it was from "clever contacts" so it is some marketing thing.
I have been receiving frequent calls from this number but they never leave a message or send a text. Based on their behavior, I can only conclude that this is likely a scammer. Thank you for allowing me to report this.
The caller stayed on the line for a few seconds and then abruptly hung up without saying anything.
