I got a call from someone pretending to be a child who asked me to message them on WhatsApp. This seems highly suspicious and likely a scam.
Scammer Claiming to be my Child who can’t find their phone. To save and message the phone number via WhatsApp.
Recieved text message: “Hi mum/dad, I've dropped my phone and now it's broken. This is my new number for now, so can you save it and text me through WhatsApp when you see this please?” Seeing as I have no kids I knew this as a scam, so I blocked the number.
Hi mum/dad scammer. Will say something along the lines of this when messaging you: “Hi mum/dad, I've dropped my phone and now it's broken. This is my new number for now, so can you save it and text me through WhatsApp when you see this please?” And will ask you to send your card info so they can “buy a new phone”.
Just block them, but I prefer to troll them a bit before I do.
