Health Fund Scam and Robocall Reports for 04 8084 0806
Three contributors have reported activity from 04 8084 0806 (also written as 0480840806), describing a mix of suspicious behaviours. One report details a health fund comparison consultation pitch with contradictory explanations about privacy, while another indicates robocall activity typical of refund scams. A third report notes repeated calls from similar numbers with no voicemail left despite a request to do so.
The health fund pitch from 0480840806 is particularly noteworthy for its evasive responses when questioned. When a contributor challenged how the caller claiming to represent a health fund provider could not state their name due to privacy reasons, the explanation became circular and nonsensical, raising red flags about the legitimacy of the contact.
What Callers from 04 8084 0806 Say
One contributor received a Saturday morning call at 9:00 AM from a female caller claiming to represent health fund services. The caller introduced herself as "Lisa" and offered an "obligation free comparison consultation" for health funds. When challenged about her inability to reference the contributor's existing health fund details, her explanations became vague and contradictory, suggesting she may not have had access to the information she claimed to possess.
The caller from 04 8084 0806 used a privacy-related excuse to avoid confirming the contributor's name, stating she wasn't "allowed to say my name out loud for privacy reasons." This is inconsistent with how legitimate health fund advisors operate, as they typically confirm customer identity as a security measure.
Other reports about 0480840806 describe silent calls with digital noise in the background, consistent with robocall systems used in refund and financial scams. These calls attempt to route victims to live operators who then request payment information.
Report Patterns and Timing
Reports span late April through early May 2026. The health fund pitch occurred on a Saturday morning at exactly 9:00 AM, suggesting scheduled calling campaigns rather than responsive customer service. One contributor noted the background noise during the 04 8084 0806 call was notably loud and unprofessional for a supposed business consultation.
The repeated calls pattern is also significant. A contributor reported receiving calls from 04 8084 0806 and similar numbers without voicemail messages left despite their greeting requesting callers to do so. This behaviour is typical of automated dialling systems that disconnect if a voicemail system answers, rather than genuine follow-up attempts by legitimate businesses.

What Our Users Reviewed
Early Saturday morning call. Aussie female. Sounder like an older person. Said she wanted to talk about Health Funds.
I told her I didn’t.
She said “but you need to hear me out, this will benefit you”
I asked if I could call her back.
She said “no, our numbers do not take incoming calls. If you are busy, I will call you back. Now what was your name?”
I said “well you have my number so you should have my name”
She said “I do have your name but due to privacy reasons, I am not permitted to say your name out loud”
I found this to be rather odd so just hung up on her and blocked the number.
Saturday morning call.9:00 AM on the dot!!!
Pesky female. Aussie accent. Think she said her name was Lisa. The background was rather noisy.
She wanted to talk about Health Funds and wanted to book me in for an “obligation free comparison consultation”
I told her I was lying in a hospital bed as we spoke.
She said “I will call you back at a later date”
I said “that’s fine” (with no intention as I blocked her number immediately after I ended the call)
She then asked “what’s your name?”
I asked her why she was asking for my name as she allegedly had my details of my current health fund.
She said she wasn’t allowed to say my name out loud for privacy reasons.
I asked whose privacy was she trying to protect?
She said “you know who I am talking about”
This conversation clearly did not make any sense which caused me to think that the situation was a bit suspicious.
Told her I had to go as the doctor wanted to speak with me, and hung up and blocked.
Silent call or digital noise on the line, typical of refund scams trying to transfer you to crooks
No message despite my voicemail saying to leave one, then another similar number rang, blocked them both

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why would a health fund caller say she couldn't say my name for privacy reasons?
Legitimate health fund representatives confirm customer identity as a standard security practice, not to protect privacy from the customer themselves. If a caller from 04 8084 0806 (0480840806) gives contradictory explanations about why they can't reference your details or confirm your identity, this is a red flag indicating the call may not be from your actual health fund provider. Always verify by calling your health fund directly using the number on your card.
What is a robocall refund scam, and how does 04 8084 0806 fit the pattern?
Robocall refund scams use automated systems to place many calls with silent lines or digital noise. When you stay on the line or press a button, you're transferred to a live operator who claims you have a tax refund or government grant pending, and requests payment or personal information to process it. One contributor reported receiving exactly this type of call from 0480840806 with background noise typical of refund scam call centres. Do not engage with these calls.
Why did 04 8084 0806 call me on a Saturday morning at 9:00 AM?
The Saturday 9:00 AM call from 0480840806 suggests automated dialling from a campaign list rather than responsive customer service. Legitimate health fund advisors typically call during business hours on weekdays, or only after scheduling an appointment. The precision timing (exactly 9:00 AM) indicates a dialler system working through a list of numbers methodically.
Should I call back if I miss a call from 04 8084 0806?
No, do not return the call. If 0480840806 is calling you unsolicited about health funds, it is not from your actual provider (who would use your known number on file). Returning the call connects you to scammers and confirms your line is active for further attempts. Block the number instead and contact your health fund directly if you have genuine questions.
What should I do if 04 8084 0806 sends me a link or asks me to visit a website?
Do not click any links or visit websites provided by callers from 04 8084 0806 (0480840806). One contributor reported receiving calls from this number with links to websites, which is typical of refund and financial scams designed to collect payment information or login credentials. If you need to access health fund services, go directly to your provider's official website or call the number on your membership card.
How do I register with the Do Not Call Register to stop calls from 04 8084 0806?
Visit donotcall.gov.au and register your phone number. You can register landline and mobile numbers, and it's free. Legitimate businesses must comply with the Do Not Call Register, though scammers often ignore it. If calls from 0480840806 continue after 30 days on the register, report them to ACMA at acma.gov.au as a breach of the Telecommunications (Do Not Call) Register Act 2006.
