0480 801 195 (0480801195): Caller impersonates Clubhouse Casino, references victim's email address to appear legitimate, attempts gaslighting when account denial occurs.

Clubhouse Casino Impersonation Reports for 0480 801 195

One contributor has reported a sophisticated impersonation scam from 0480 801 195 (also written as 0480801195). The caller, a female with an Irish-sounding accent, contacted the contributor claiming to represent Clubhouse Casino and referenced the victim's email address to create false legitimacy. When questioned, the contributor discovered they had never opened a casino account, yet the caller persisted with gaslighting tactics.

The concerning detail here is that the caller at 0480 801 195 possessed the contributor's personal email address and phone number, suggesting either a data breach or purchase of contact information from a third party. The fact that the email address contained the contributor's name, yet the caller did not use it during the initial contact, indicates the scammer may have been working from a database rather than conducting targeted research.

What the Caller from 0480 801 195 Claimed

The caller opened with a direct question: "Can I speak to the person with the email address [victim's email]?" rather than using the contributor's name. This approach is typical of scammers who want to appear informed without actually having done proper homework.

When the contributor questioned the purpose of the call, the caller stated it was regarding "your online casino account" linked to that email address. The contributor denied having any such account, but instead of backing off, the caller doubled down, asserting the account existed and attempting to gaslight the victim into believing they had forgotten opening it.

The recording message accessed when the contributor called 0480 801 195 back confirmed the number connects to Clubhouse Casino, with an automated message stating "we have attempted to contact you" and promising continued contact attempts. This suggests either the number is legitimately associated with the casino but compromised for scam purposes, or scammers are spoofing the casino's identity.

Why This Approach Is Concerning

This scam uses several red flags layered together. The caller possessed real personal information (email address and phone number) to build false credibility. The Irish accent and impersonation of a legitimate online gambling service lends surface-level authenticity. Most critically, when the contributor resisted, the gaslighting tactic was deployed-attempting to make the victim question their own memory and actions.

The fact that 0480 801 195 is a mobile number adds another layer of sophistication. The scammer is not calling from a fixed line or obvious call centre, making it harder to trace.

Some chick called claiming she was from.

Clubhouse Casino and wanted to discuss my online gaming account.

Told her I didn’t have one.

She told me (yes, she TOLD me) that I did in fact have an online gambling account. She wanted to help me transfer my funds from this account into Bitcoin.

I said “what part of I don’t have an online gaming account do you not understand?”

She continued to argue I gambled online.

I didn’t have to patience to make any further small talk, so just hung up on her and blocked the number.

Female with weird accent (possibly from Ireland) called. I only answered as was expecting a call.

Female didn’t address me by name, however started her conversation like this:

“Can I speak to the person with the email address _________ @gmail.com?” (She quoted my email address)

I asked “what is this in regards to?”

Female “your online casino account”

Me “what online casino account?”

Her “the one you have linked to your email address” (she quoted my email address again)

I said “I think you have made a mistake, I have never had an online casino account”

She then attempted to gaslight me.

I ended up terminating the call, but out of curiosity, a few minutes later l called the number back and got a recording saying I had called the Clubhouse Casino and they had attempted to contact me, they will continue to try to make contact.

I blocked number so they don’t, but find this bizarre as they knew both my number and email, yet she didn’t know my name - however my email address DOES contain my name.

Definitely a massive SCAM.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did the caller from 0480 801 195 know my email address if they were a scammer?

The caller likely obtained your email and phone number through a data breach, purchased contact lists from third parties, or scraped publicly available information online. Scammers often build false credibility by referencing real personal details. The fact that the caller had your email but not your name-despite your name being in the email address-suggests they were reading from a database rather than conducting genuine research into your accounts.

Why didn't 0480 801 195 use my name if they knew my email?

This is a common scammer tactic. By asking for 'the person with email [address]' instead of using your name, the caller appears to have done some homework while maintaining plausible deniability. If you had said 'wrong person,' they could hang up without suspicion. It's a way to fish for confirmation without committing to specific details. When you call 0480 801 195 back, you may reach a voicemail for Clubhouse Casino, which suggests the number may be spoofed or the casino's legitimate infrastructure compromised.

Is 0480 801 195 actually Clubhouse Casino's number?

The callback message from 0480 801 195 referenced Clubhouse Casino by name, but that doesn't mean the number is legitimate. Scammers spoof legitimate business identities regularly. The outgoing message saying 'we will continue to try to contact you' is a red flag-legitimate businesses don't typically follow up with people who explicitly deny having accounts. If you want to verify, contact Clubhouse Casino directly using the phone number listed on their official website, never using the number from an incoming call.

What does 'gaslighting' mean in the context of the 0480 801 195 call?

Gaslighting is when someone tries to make you question your own reality or memory. In this case, the caller from 0480 801 195 insisted the victim had a casino account despite clear denial, attempting to override the victim's certainty about their own actions. This psychological pressure is often used by scammers to keep victims engaged longer, hoping they'll eventually comply or reveal additional personal information out of confusion.

What should I do if I already engaged with 0480 801 195 and shared information?

If you've spoken with someone from 0480 801 195, do not send money or provide further details. Block the number immediately. If you shared financial information (card numbers, bank details, passwords), contact your bank right away and place fraud alerts on your accounts. If you shared personal identity information (date of birth, driver's license number), monitor your credit reports for unusual activity and consider placing a credit freeze. Report the incident to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) and ACMA.

Why do scammers use Irish or other foreign accents when calling from 0480 801 195?

Foreign accents can make calls seem more 'international' or 'official,' lending false legitimacy to scams. They may also be used to create distance or confusion-victims might assume they're speaking to a call centre overseas, making it seem harder to report or trace. The accent alone doesn't prove legitimacy; always verify through official channels independent of the call from 0480 801 195.
