Caller claimed to be from Telstra advising my IP address was compromised and all my passwords had been exposed.
The female called with a very thick indian accent told me to put my phone on speaker so that I could read out my phone ID and my IP address (just so she could “double check” it). I told her I had nothing to do with Telstra and hung up.
No sooner had I hung up and blocked the number, I received another call (from a slightly different number) from the same female demanding to know why I hung up on her.
I received a call from this number. Could hear like a very busy call centre in the background. Male caller had indian accent and said his name was “Norm”. Told me he was from Telstra and my IP address had been compromised. He also called me by a name of who is unknown to me. He wanted me to put my phone on speaker so I could talk to him and read out my IP address and my broadband address. I then hung up. He then called me again via another number - 0480 041 018 and started yelling at me saying “why did you f-ing hang up on me? This is important”. I hung up again, and before I could block the second number, he called me again and hurled abuse and continued to yell and swear at me. I again hung up, and was called AGAIN by a third number (0480 045 701), where I just hung up. He called again for a fourth time (0480 047 104) and screamed down the phone “stop f-ing hanging up on me”. I again hung up and he called back on 0480 045 701 (I didn’t have time to block this after he called from this number prior). No sooner had I blocked that number, I had a sixth call on 0480 047 611 again yelling at me “this is f-ing important bitch, stop hanging up on me”
