An unknown caller contacted me, claiming an emergency situation regarding my partner and asked for account details. This felt very fraudulent and concerning.
It’s becoming pretty clear to me that a lot of companies are selling our data. Whenever I deal with some of them, like Optus, I get bombarded with scam calls one after another.
I received a call from a male with background noise typical of a call center. He said, “Hello, this is John, how are you today?” I didn't want to engage and hung up immediately.
A woman with a heavy Indian accent called me. I couldn't understand much of what she said, but it seemed she was trying to sell a car loan. I hung up after about 5 seconds because I was confused and uncomfortable.
Sounds like scam. Cold call - female Indian accent claiming to be from Blue Finance. Could hear my replies echoing in the background on her end. Overseas or on speaker. I hung up pretty quickly.
Unsolicited finance call. Likely a scam. Block.
