Seriously? I was just browsing available courses and specifically chose the "no call back" option! And now I’m plagued by six missed calls in less than a day. Talk about a massive time steal and heaps annoying!
So, I gave my details to explore nursing courses but clearly said 'no calls', yet here I am, getting random hang-ups from some Open University number. Bit dodgy if you ask me!
I received a call at 11:30 AM AEST on December 11, 2024. Upon answering, it was quite noisy, and a young girl introduced herself as a student advisor from Open University Australia. I informed her that I did not authorize this call and requested that they remove my number from their list.
I answered the call, but it seemed like the caller was talking to someone else. They abruptly hung up without any explanation.
After filling out a form to explore available courses at Open Universities, I started receiving unsolicited calls from both the 0480 033 400 and 409 numbers. In the form, I clearly indicated that I did not want to receive calls, as I am only looking casually and do not intend to enroll anytime soon. Despite this, I received three calls within 24 hours, which I found very off-putting.
