    Got a text at 12:51 am from "National Loans" saying they just tried to call me & asked me to call them back. Blocked instead. Then, get blocked calls for the next two days. Glad I blocked.

    Call received, but I didn't answer as the number is unknown. Did not leave a message. Given the other comments, likely spam.

    The caller claimed to be ringing from Amazon prime and wanted to know if we would be cancelling our subscription. He wanted our details so as to stop payment from coming out for the next month. When I told him I haven't subscribed to Amazon Prime. After a number of times telling him I do not have a subscription he finally hung up. A scam call. Don't get sucked in.

    Called and hung up. If I get another call from old mate James I'll tell him I'm a recovering alcoholic and see how his sales pitch goes. Blocked this number so let's see if he has another one.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
