I received an SMS from +61477765022. It was from SmartClinics Taigum in QLD, wishing me happy holidays and offering to book an appointment with their doctor if I need a doctor during these holidays. The damned medical centre is not even open during holidays!! Spammers!
What's worse, SmartClinics is breaking Australian privacy law, according to which they can't use patient's details for marketing or disclose any personal information to unrelated third parties. It's not the first time I'm receiving Smart Clinics spam sent through outsourced spam centres. I sent the "stop" messages back, I called the clinics, I even went there in person asking to stop this outrageous violation of patients privacy. Every time they promised it won't happened again, and yet it happens.
My advice to everyone: avoid Smart Clinics like a plague. They are bouying out small reputable medical centres and turni them into a money-making corporation. They only interested in business and money. They don't care about the law. They don't care about the patients. They don't want to understand that this negatively reflects on the doctor-patient relationship. They will extort your personal details insisting they must have the data for "high quality comprehensive health care", and then use the information as they see fit, totally ignoring you and the law.
