Identifying the Threat: 0450 044 776

The phone number 0450 044 776 has emerged as a concerning point of contact for many Australians, being reported as part of a Telstra National Broadband Network (NBN) scam. Users have described receiving repeated calls, often from various mobile numbers, alleging suspicious activity with their NBN internet services.

Understanding the Scam

Several reports indicate that the individuals behind this number are attempting to impersonate Telstra representatives. They might target non-Telstra customers, suggesting urgent action must be taken regarding their supposed NBN connections.

Interestingly, some victims have highlighted that they are not even subscribed to Telstra or do not have any NBN service in place. This indicates a systematic scam operation designed to capitalise on people's fears regarding their internet security.

This number is associated with the Telstra National Broadband Network scam. I have had repeated calls from different mobile numbers all claiming to be calling from Telstra about suspicious activity with my National Broadband Network internet. I am 1. Not with Telstra and 2. Don’t have National Broadband Network. This number is also apparently supplied by vodaphone.
