I have been receiving text messages saying, "Payment of your outstanding ANZ account is overdue. Please call Collection House today on 1800 802 161 quoting Reference number ##############. Thank you." I think this is a fraudulent message.

A debt collector called me regarding my payment with Afterpay, but the amount they claim I owe seems excessively higher than what it should be. I tried to call the number listed on their website, but it was not functioning.

I keep receiving SMS messages containing incorrect information about overdue payments related to Afterpay. I’ve already made some payments through the Afterpay app, yet I continue to get messages with wrong details. Additionally, I often receive hang-up calls from Collection House after picking up.

I received the following txt from +61420101937:

"We would like to assist you in taking the first step in getting your outstanding ANZ matter resolved. Call 1800802161 or reply "YES" for a callback.".

Please note the 1800 number also.

I have no account or debt with ANZ.
