The phone number 0420 101 252 has recently surfaced as a problem for many Australians, being classified as a persistent telemarketer. Users' experiences indicate that this number is part of an unwanted calling campaign, which can be both frustrating and intrusive.
Reports from different users suggest that the caller operates with a lack of respect for their recipients. For instance, on 19 October 2022, one user noted that after expressing their disinterest, the caller simply would not take the hint, leading them to resort to hanging up and hoping for some peace. Another user had a similar experience, indicating that the number went to voicemail without leaving any message on 13 October 2022, highlighting a common tactic among persistent telemarketers to flood potential customers without regard for their preferences.
This behaviour aligns with the tactics often employed by telemarketing firms, where scripts are followed rigidly and the same people call multiple times, disregarding requests to be removed from their call lists. It can feel overwhelming, particularly for those who prefer the tranquillity of not being disturbed by incessant phone calls.
To handle calls from 0420 101 252, or any similar persistent callers, consider the following strategies:
- Let Calls Go to Voicemail: If a number is recognisably spammy or telemarketing in nature, let it ring out. Genuine callers will leave a message, while telemarketers typically won't.
- Don’t Engage: Try not to interact with the caller once you've identified them as unwanted. Engaging can sometimes lead to additional calls.
- Block the Number: You can block this number directly from your phone settings to prevent further annoyance.
- Report the Number: Use platforms like Reverseau to report persistent telemarketers and warn others within the community.
To sum it up, 0420 101 252 appears to be a telemarketer known for their relentless calling practices. This persistent caller does not take "no" for an answer. The only way to end the conversation is to hang up, but I'm receiving calls from him or others like him again the next day. To cope with this, I'm keeping my phone on silent and will check my voicemails twice a day instead.
I received a call from this number, but they didn't leave a voicemail message after it went to voicemail.
