This man claimed to be "calling from Telstra, and was calling (claiming) he (My housemate) had put a complaint in about his internet." My housemate immediately knew it was a scam call as he doesn't have a Telstra account. He informed we don't have Telstra, and then hung up.
I checked the 0417428900 out here on Reverseau and it shows this number belonged to R & J Holden Landscape company in Victoria, Australia. Upon calling that 0417428900 number we learnt from the owner that it's from a very long time ago, as the company name was changed then and hasn't been used since. We suggested he immediately inform Telstra and have them investigate.
Can somebody please explain how 2 people obviously in 2 different countries can have the same number?
I forgot to add that I called that 0417428900 number from a private number which doesn't show up when calling someone else. Therefore I suggest if you need to check if someone is trying to scam you, block your number before you call that number.
