BEWARE - THIS IS A SCAM BANKING FRAUD.

An Indian sounding gentleman called from 0411 867 627 claiming to be from (could not recognise the business name, then asked if this is a bank, said yes, then asked to confirmed which bank he's calling from, which he changed his story to state Commonwealth Bank). He claimed he was from the Visa & Mastercard team, and alerting of a $1.400 travel ticket purchased this morning..... Straight away asked for confirmation of whether I had bought the supposed ticket.......

No info was given, sounded like a spam call centre, the call was made from a mobile number (and banks do NOT call from mobiles but from Landlines if they are calling you first about any issue), so this is.

SCAM SCAM SCAM written all over it.

Do not give your name (he never asked me to quality my name or bank account details, and by the way, I don't bank with Commonwealth, so THAT was a dead giveaway)......

BLOCK.

REPORT TO ACCC & Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman with a formal scam complaint.

...... Spoof numbers are getting sophisticated. Don't take the bait!
