Complete scam. Offered to buy my vehicle on Gumtree. Wanted my PayPal details so as money can be paid into it. Will arrange for courier to pick up car. When I tried to get further info from him he failed to answer. Beware of this number, do not reply.

Thanks for getting back to me, I would have loved to call you directly but due to the nature of my work we do not have access to phone at the moment, which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.

Does it have any faults I should be aware of?

I am organizing a courier now,

I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account, please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so I can proceed with the payment nd contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in NT for me. Await your reply.

3rd email received after responding:

We are good to go now I will transfer the fund into your account soon. Please am trying to sort out with the pick up agent though am having little problem with them now but hope to sort it out soon. I will email you when am done with the payment kindly take off the Ad on the advert as I will deposit the fund as soon as I am through with the courier agent.

What is our agreed price?

My final response was as was playing the game a little with him "bugger off".

Michael King, scammer loser just responded to my car advert on Gumtree. Same message as received by another person on this forum. What made me twig was why would someone want to freight a $5K car from NSW to the NT? I wish all of these scammers would go and get a decent life!

The point of all this is to drag as much of your personal information out of you for later scams.

Name and email changes all the time and story may change too .

You could end up getting scam emails from your bank after you give BSB details as thT dictates the bank you use.
