I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed to be representing Amazon regarding an order for an iPhone. This raises my suspicions of a scam.
The caller claimed to be from the VISA/MasterCard Verification Center and informed me that a transfer of $2000 had been made into my account in Indonesia. When I requested a callback number to verify the information, she abruptly hung up on me. This seems suspicious.
I screened the incoming call using Google Call Screening, and they ended the call abruptly without leaving a message.
The caller claimed to be from PayPal, stating that an amount over $800 was about to be deducted from my account. I hung up before hearing further details and subsequently blocked the number.
