Spam and Nuisance Reports for 08 6285 8869
Five contributors have reported calls from 08 6285 8869 (also written as 0862858869), a Perth-based local service number allocated to Netsip Pty Ltd. The pattern is consistent with coordinated spam and nuisance calling campaigns. Two contributors independently noted receiving around 10 calls daily from 08 6285 8869 and similar numbers with varying last two digits, suggesting automated dialling from a shared calling platform.
One contributor answered a call from 0862858869 and detected immediate signs of spam activity including a delayed response after answering and an Indian-accented caller. When the contributor declined interest, the caller became defensive and terminated the call abruptly. Another contributor picked up without speaking, and the caller hung up within 2 seconds, a classic pattern of automated systems testing whether numbers are active.
What Callers from 08 6285 8869 Do
The behaviour from 08 6285 8869 indicates systematic testing of phone numbers rather than legitimate business communication. When a contributor answered, the delayed response typical of auto-dialled systems was evident before the caller spoke. The caller's refusal to accept that the recipient was uninterested and immediate disconnection after being questioned suggests evasion rather than genuine inquiry.
The pattern of multiple calls daily from 08 6285 8869 and near-identical numbers (differing only in the last two digits) points to a bulk-calling operation cycling through number variants. This approach is characteristic of scam and spam networks attempting to reach high volumes of targets with minimal manual intervention.
Call Patterns and Timing
Contributors report receiving approximately 10 calls daily from 08 6285 8869 and related number sequences. One contributor received a call from this number within the past week, while others documented activity over the past several weeks. The timing pattern suggests ongoing, systematic dialling rather than sporadic contact attempts.
The allocation to Netsip Pty Ltd is significant. One contributor explicitly identified this provider as "a well known provider of scam/spam callers," indicating this infrastructure may be routinely exploited for coordinated harassment campaigns. The use of local Western Australian numbering (08 area code) creates false impression of legitimacy, particularly for recipients expecting calls from local businesses or services.
What to Do If You Receive a Call from 08 6285 8869
If 08 6285 8869 calls you:
- Do not: Answer if you don't recognise the number, return the call, or engage with the caller if you do answer
- Do: Let it go to voicemail, block the number immediately, and report the repeated calls to ACMA if the pattern continues
- If you answer by mistake: Hang up without speaking further if you hear silence or a delayed response, do not say you're interested in anything, and do not provide any personal information
Contributors note that answering these calls often triggers more frequent dialling as it confirms your number is active. Silent hang-ups after 2 seconds suggest the caller is testing the line rather than attempting genuine contact. Block 08 6285 8869 and similar numbers immediately.

Got a call, didn't leave a message
Spam/scam caller with an Indian accent. Do not pick up or call back.
I accidentally answered the call from a local Perth number, thinking it may be my doctor returning my call but, when the caller showed signs of being a spammer/scammer (the delay after I answered the call, etc.) and I told her that I was not interested, the caller started to protest that she hadn’t even told me why she was calling then she hung up on me. ?
Provider is Netsip- a well known provider of scam/spam callers.
I should have not answered the call and let it go through to messages instead.

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why does 08 6285 8869 hang up after 2 seconds if I answer?
This behaviour is typical of auto-dialled spam systems testing whether a phone number is active. The caller doesn't intend to speak with you - they're confirming your number works so they can add it to target lists or sell it to other spam networks. One contributor reported exactly this pattern with 0862858869, answering to silence followed by immediate hang-up. Do not answer calls from unknown numbers; let them go to voicemail.
I received 10 calls daily from 08 6285 8869 and similar numbers. Is this a scam?
Multiple contributors reported receiving around 10 calls daily from 08 6285 8869 and numbers with different last two digits (0862858870, 0862858871, etc.), indicating a coordinated spam campaign. When one contributor answered a call from this number sequence, the caller showed classic scam indicators including delayed response and evasiveness when questioned. The high volume and number-cycling pattern confirms systematic abuse, not legitimate business. Block all these numbers and report to ACMA.
The caller from 0862858869 had an Indian accent and hung up when I said no. Should I worry?
This matches reports from other contributors about 08 6285 8869 who noted the caller became defensive and terminated the call when declining interest was expressed. The combination of foreign accent, delayed response typical of auto-dialling, and aggressive hang-up suggests an offshore scam operation. You did the right thing by stating you weren't interested. Do not call back the number, and block it immediately.
Is Netsip Pty Ltd a legitimate provider?
Netsip is a VoIP provider legitimately registered in Australia, but one contributor explicitly noted that this provider is 'a well known provider of scam/spam callers.' This means the infrastructure is allocated to legitimate business but is being exploited by scammers and spammers to disguise the origin of calls. The allocation to Netsip for 08 6285 8869 doesn't mean Netsip itself is scamming you - it means someone is abusing their services to send spam. Report to both ACMA and Netsip if possible.
Why do these calls use a local Perth number (08)?
Using local numbering (08 area code for Perth/Western Australia) creates the impression that 0862858869 is a nearby business or service, making recipients more likely to answer. This is a common tactic in spam campaigns to increase answer rates. The allocation to a local service number adds false legitimacy. Just because 08 6285 8869 has Perth numbering doesn't mean the caller is actually in Perth - it's spoofed infrastructure.
What should I do if I accidentally answered 08 6285 8869?
If you answered 0862858869 and heard silence or a delayed response, hang up immediately. Do not press any buttons, do not say anything further, and do not listen to any prompts. Block the number right away. If the caller did speak and asked questions, treat anything you said as potentially used for scam purposes - monitor your accounts and financial activity. One contributor answered thinking it was their doctor, so it's easy to mistake these numbers. Going forward, don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognise.
