Same experience as everyone else except they are leaving daily messages. Very annoying. Highly suspect. I won't be returning their call.
I received a call from this number they left a voicemail message. They were stating that l owed money and l would have a debt collector come to my door to collect the money. I owed no money to the tax office. I looked up the number on the internet l could see this number was a scam. I contacted the tax office to explain the situation, they also said it was a scam.
Just like the previous comments, only I rang the number and spoke to someone who could not understand anything I was saying. Told them I was checking with the ATO and reported this to the ATO. When I tried to call back to get the persons name, number was disconnected. ATO confirmed it was a scam call. Next time I want to play along just to get as much information as I can.
I started getting this call yesterday from this number about my legal issues with ATO. It is a recorded, computer generated or distorted voice message. It is apparently a scam.
I just picked up our landline to this recorded message.. Not stipulating my name.. Threatening I needed to call otherwise 24hours until seizing goods..curious..I called the number.. Got all the crap... They couldn't tell me my middle name or tax number.. I kept him talking.. He said I had under an hour to take an easy option before police came to my door...yes! Of course the 'easy' option was he would give me a bank account number.. He also said I was being recordered by fed government... Lots of other crap...I'm thinking of cancelling the landline...grrrr.
There was a voice mail on my home phone(Indian accent) stating that because I haven't paid my ADL invoice they are going to take legal action and retrieve my assets. He said to call the 03 6107 9629 to discuss further. (I don't think so!!!!!!).
I was also called by this number today, Went straight to voicemail. A computer generated voice threatening me from the ATO that officers will come to my place in the next 24 hours to search and value my assets as legal action is being taken against 'your name'.
We also had this number call us saying the sane thing as above by Kris. I actually caked the number only to get the engaged tone every time I tried. Really is annoying to get these calls but there's not much we can do.
Yes we received the same thing. The ATO would normally communicate via correspondence not a recorded threatening messages left on an answering machine. So who has the authority to disconnect this number and trace the SCAMMERS!!!!!!!
Message left on my land-line phone from what was clearly a computer-generated, not very clear voice. Said something about a debt owing to the ATO, and that they would soon commence legal action. I am supposed to call the number to stop the legal action commencing. I know for certain I do not owe the ATO anything. This has SCAM written all over it. I'm very tempted to ring the number, just to give them a piece of my mind, but I have better things to do with my time.
