Community reports for 03 7043 8036 (0370438036): Callers with Indian accents attempt identity verification despite Do Not Call registration, followed by repeated harassment.
Repeated Scam Calls from 03 7043 8036
Two contributors have reported suspicious activity from 03 7043 8036 (also written as 0370438036), with a pattern of repeated contact after initial engagement. The most recent report describes a caller with an Indian accent who refused to introduce themselves or name their organisation, instead immediately requesting personal information including name, date of birth, and address.
What makes these reports particularly concerning is the behaviour after the call. One contributor noted that answering the call from 0370438036 triggered a cycle of repeated calls from different numbers daily. This suggests the caller has confirmed the number as active, turning the contributor's contact details into a target for ongoing harassment.
What Callers from 03 7043 8036 Say
The caller from 03 7043 8036 employs a deceptive opening. Rather than identifying themselves or their organisation, they immediately ask the contributor to confirm their name, using a phrased question like "is that...?" This technique bypasses typical defences and moves straight to personal verification requests.
When challenged to identify themselves first, the caller from 0370438036 becomes evasive. The contributor reported that refusal to provide company details or credentials preceded abusive language in Hindi before the caller hung up. This behaviour - avoidance of identification, escalation to hostility when questioned, and use of language barriers - is characteristic of scam operations targeting personal information.
Report Patterns and Timing
The reports about 03 7043 8036 show an escalation pattern typical of compromised contact data. The initial call came today, but one contributor mentioned receiving calls from different numbers every day since a prior scam experience. The pattern suggests that once a scammer confirms a number is active and monitored, they share or sell that contact information within scam networks, resulting in repeated calls from rotating numbers.
The fact that 0370438036 is registered as a local Victorian service makes this particularly notable. Contributors have indicated these are part of ongoing scam campaigns, with the caller explicitly using an Indian accent and refusing standard Australian business identification practices.

What Our Users Reviewed
Caller did not introduce himself. Indian accent. I have been on the Do Not Call register for years so it's not a legitimate Australian business. Caller asked "is that...?" (my name, or the modified one I use online) and I said who's calling, he kept asking me to confirm my name, date of birth and address, I said not until you introduce yourself, what company are you from? Then he said something really disgusting in Hindi and hung up.
These are the same scammers that have been calling for years. I shouldn't have answered, now they'll just call even more, I'm "live"
Keep getting calls from different numbers every day after being scammed, this is the latest one

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why does the caller from 03 7043 8036 refuse to identify themselves?
Legitimate businesses are required to identify themselves under Australian telemarketing laws. A caller refusing to name their organisation or company is a major red flag. The contributor's experience with 0370438036 shows this refusal was paired with an immediate request for personal details - a classic scam technique to avoid accountability while gathering information they can misuse.
What does it mean when a scammer says something abusive after being questioned?
The contributor reported that the caller from 03 7043 8036 used abusive language in Hindi when confronted about their identity. This behaviour - switching to hostility when questioned - indicates the caller operates without legitimate authority. Genuine customer service representatives handle objections professionally; scammers often become aggressive or rude when their tactics are challenged.
Why do I keep getting calls from different numbers after answering one call?
Once you answer a call from 03 7043 8036 or a similar scammer, your number is confirmed as active and monitored. The contributor noted this exact pattern - daily calls from different numbers after initially engaging with the scammer. This suggests your contact details are shared across scam networks or sold to multiple operators, resulting in repeated harassment from rotating phone numbers.
Is 03 7043 8036 a real Victorian business number?
While 0370438036 is registered to a local service in Victoria, this does not guarantee legitimacy. Scammers often spoof or compromise legitimate local numbers. The caller's refusal to identify themselves, demand for personal details without introduction, and abusive response when questioned all indicate the number is being used for scam purposes, regardless of how it's registered.
Should I have answered the call from 03 7043 8036?
The contributor's concern was justified. They were on the Do Not Call Register, which means legitimate Australian businesses should not be calling them. If 0370438036 bypassed your expectations and you did answer, hanging up when the caller refuses to identify themselves is the right response. There's no benefit to continuing the conversation with someone who won't state who they are.
What should I do if I already confirmed details with the caller from 03 7043 8036?
First, block 0370438036 and any other numbers calling you persistently. Second, monitor your accounts and credit report for suspicious activity. Third, report the call immediately to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) and ACMA (acma.gov.au) with the date, time, and what information you confirmed. Finally, consider placing a fraud alert with your bank, as the scammer may attempt to use your details to impersonate you or commit financial fraud.
