Suspicious Missed Call Reports for 02 8552 8226
Two contributors have reported receiving missed calls from 02 8552 8226 (also written as 0285528226) on unlisted phone numbers. Both reports indicate the same concerning pattern: the caller did not leave a voicemail message, raising questions about the purpose of the contact.
This behaviour is noteworthy because legitimate businesses typically leave a message explaining the reason for their call, especially when reaching an unlisted number. The fact that 02 8552 8226 made no attempt to communicate a message suggests either an automated system testing for active numbers, or deliberate contact tracing without clear intent.
Call Pattern and Characteristics
Both reports of 0285528226 were logged within seconds of each other on 3 October 2026, suggesting either duplicate reporting or rapid successive calls. The use of unlisted phone numbers indicates callers may be specifically targeting numbers not in public directories, which is a known practice among telemarketing and data verification operations.
The allocation data shows 02 8552 8226 is registered to a local service provider in NSW (Symbio Networks Pty Ltd). While this doesn't confirm or deny legitimacy, contributors should verify any callback claims against the provider's official contact details.

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why would someone call my unlisted number without leaving a message?
There are several possibilities. Automated systems may use missed calls to verify if a number is active before launching targeted campaigns. Some debt collectors or data brokers test numbers this way. Less commonly, it could be a wrong number. The fact that 02 8552 8226 didn't leave a voicemail makes legitimate business contact unlikely, since any genuine service would explain their purpose in a message.
Is 02 8552 8226 a legitimate business number?
The allocation data shows 0285528226 is registered to Symbio Networks Pty Ltd, a local service provider in NSW. This registration alone doesn't confirm or deny legitimacy. To verify, contact Symbio Networks directly using their official website or phone number (not by calling back 02 8552 8226). Legitimate businesses rarely reach out via silent missed calls.
Should I call back 02 8552 8226?
Not without first verifying who the caller is. Calling back unknown numbers can confirm your number is active to telemarketers or scammers. If you believe 0285528226 relates to a service you use, look up that organisation's official contact details and call them directly instead.
What does it mean if I got a missed call but they didn't leave a voicemail?
It typically indicates either an automated system, a wrong number, or deliberate contact without disclosure of intent. Contributors reporting 02 8552 8226 noted this exact pattern across multiple calls, suggesting a systematic approach rather than individual mistakes.
How can I prevent calls from 02 8552 8226?
You can block 0285528226 in your phone's settings. If calls continue from different numbers but follow the same pattern (missed calls, no message), your number may be on a calling list. Register with the Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au and report the behaviour to ACMA at acma.gov.au.
Should I report this call to authorities?
If you've received multiple unwanted calls from 02 8552 8226 or similar numbers, yes. Report to ACMA (acma.gov.au) for telemarketing violations, or to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) if you suspect it's scam-related. Also share your experience on Reverseau to help other Australians identify the pattern.
