Got a call this morning from Red Cross. I am a regular supporter and appreciate what they do but what this caller did felt so wrong. The first thing I said was, "I do not wish to continue if this is about contribution." The caller assured me that it is not. After just telling me about their action plans, he finally asked if I would like to 'CONTRIBUTE' on a periodic basis to their Action Ready Plan!!! I expect this from a shady sales marketer but not from the Red Cross.
Have received about 20 calls intermittently over the past month or so. Picked up once and they said nothing. They never leave voicemail. Have stopped answering.
Had calls weekly for three weeks, then daily for the last three days. They never leave a message and having read these comments I'm sure it's to do with the Red Cross who I donated to for the Nepal earthquake relief appeal. I don't mind donating but these calls are intrusive.
Having a phone number on the do not call register apparently doesn't matter because registered charities are exempt. From their website "Some public interest organisations, such as registered charities, political parties and educational institutions, can still contact numbers on the register.".
Bummer.

I started receiving these calls from the marketing company called 2 Evolve shortly after I made several donations to the Red Cross. I deliberately declined to receive further marketing information after I donated to Red Cross, but they seem to have forwarded my details on in any event. Interestingly, the first time I answered, they indicated that they were actually from the Red Cross. It was only after I looked at this page that I discovered that Red Cross must be using them as an agent for telemarketing purposes. I've had several calls today. I normally ignore the calls, but the next time they call, I am going to demand that they delete my name from their database.

These calls started last Thursday, getting one a day now. Interestingly started just after Telstra stopped hassling me daily for a month. I never answer but annoyingly this number is leaving a 2-3 second voicemail of background noise, rather than the usual hang-up.
