Indian male with extremely difficult to understand English claimed that my PayPal account had been hacked in California for $600.
He said I had received a one time code that I needed to verify for security purposes.
I told him I didn’t know what he meant by that. This agitated him and he said “you stupid arsehole, a baby would know what that meant”
I told him I didn’t appreciate him insulting my intelligence and was going to hang up if that continued. He apologised and called me by a name nothing like my own and I pretended to cry and started sobbing and said “I have to go, you have upset me” he continued to attempt to apologise which made me pretend to cry even more and said “I really need to go, I’m so upset by what you said about my intelligence” and hung up.
No sooner after I hung up, he called me again. I didn’t answer it, but have now blocked it.

🚨 PayPal SCAM 🚨
Monday morning scam call. Public Holiday.
Male is busy call centre (a lot of YELLING in the backyard such as “LISTEN TO ME” and “YOU STUPID F*CN IDIOT” - you get the picture)
Male claimed to be “Alex from PayPal and was calling about a fraudulent charge for $600”
He claimed the purchase was made in California. He addressed me by a name which isn’t me, so I knew this to be fake. I also don’t have a PayPal account.
He then said I would be receiving a one time code via text message and as he was saying that, one came through via WhatsApp. I told him I didn’t receive it, so he said they would send it again. I didn’t open it, but the “code” flashed up on my screen and it deleted straight away.
He then said that he would connect me to the PayPal Fraud Team. I could hear him talking hindi to what appeared to be the “fraud team” which seemed to be sitting next to him.
I just hung up.
THEN I got a call from a WhatsApp number: +61 403 912 449
I declined that call.
I then got a call from: 02 7820 3394.
It was “Alex” calling me from another number wanting to know what happened. I said that the line must have been disrupted when I was being transferred.
He said that I will be receiving a call from another number (which happened as he was on the line with me: 02 7820 3390 - but I said I didn’t receive). I again hung up.
He called me back on the original number and said I need to answer the call via WhatsApp which started to call when I was on the line with “Alex” again it was: +61 403 912 449
I told “Alex” I don’t accept calls from WhatsApp and he said “well f*k you bitch; I’m going to change you that $600”
I hung up and got 2 more calls from the WhatsApp number and just ignored them. I think they got the message after a while and decided to move on.
All of these numbers have now been blocked.
