0480 801 195 - Some chick called claiming she was from. Clubhouse Casino and wanted to discuss my online gaming account. Told her I didn’t have one. She told me (yes, she TOLD me) that I did in fact have an online gambling account. She wanted to help me transfer my funds from this account into Bitcoin. I said “what part of I don’t have an online gaming account do you not understand?” She continued to argue I gambled online. I didn’t have to patience to make any further small talk, so just hung up on her and blocked the number.
(03) 9962 9555 - Indian woman with poor English said she was Telstra Security. Think she said her name was Kylie (too difficult to understand), but am sure it’s really Rashna or something like that. Reckons my ip was on public setting and wanted me to switch to private by way of me putting my phone on speaker and having her read out instructions for me to give her my ip address. Told her I was not going to give her that as I don’t give my personal details to scammers. Told her to get a real / honest job. She told me to f*k off.
(03) 9962 9555 - Extremely rude, extremely hard to understand indian calling herself “Kylie”. Extremely noisy call centre background. This scammer “Kylie” claimed to be from. Telstra security advising my ip address has been hacked. She wanted to know what internet activity I had done over the past week as they flagged this a week ago. Told her I don’t use the internet - to which she screamed I was a “f*king liar” I said “well if this was flagged last week, why are you just letting me know?” She wanted my ip address. Told her no, she screamed further obscenities. I hung up and blocked.
0468 208 298 - Rang. Answered. Said hello. They hung up straight away.
0480 801 195 - Female with weird accent (possibly from Ireland) called. I only answered as was expecting a call. Female didn’t address me by name, however started her conversation like this: “Can I speak to the person with the email address _________ @gmail.com?” (She quoted my email address) I asked “what is this in regards to?” Female “your online casino account” Me “what online casino account?” Her “the one you have linked to your email address” (she quoted my email address again) I said “I think you have made a mistake, I have never had an online casino account” She then attempted to gaslight me. I ended up terminating the call, but out of curiosity, a few minutes later l called the number back and got a recording saying I had called the Clubhouse Casino and they had attempted to contact me, they will continue to try to make contact. I blocked number so they don’t, but find this bizarre as they knew both my number and email, yet she didn’t know my name - however my email address DOES contain my name. Definitely a massive SCAM.
0420 122 961 - Flagged by phone as a scam number. Part of a barrage of calls within the last half hour, at least 6 of them. Which means after I never answered the calls from the last scammers they've put my number on a list and sold it to these geniuses, who think if they call every couple of minutes from very slightly different numbers (all 0420 122 or 123 ***) that no one will be able to realise it's a non genuine caller. An AI suggested I copy the standard international 3-tone sound for a disconnected number and use it as a voicemail greeting, and set it so any number not in my contacts list goes to voicemail and hears that sound. Then hopefully they'll mark your number as disconnected. It's a good idea, spread it.
