I received an email for claiming a free $750 Bunnings Voucher. I should have known that this was to good to be true. All I had to do was answer some questions and once I got to the top of the scale shown I would win he voucher. I started answering questions some of which were an insult to a persons intelligence. Every correct answer was greeted with a cheer and I was getting closer to the prize. If I got a question wrong then I slipped down the scale and had to try harder. This went on and on. What I was not aware of was that I was being charged $3 a minute for having connected to a premium service. I eventually gave up becoming more frustrated. I am a 77 year old pensioner. With my next Telstra bill there was a charge of $207.724 that was a result of the call. I called Telstra a and they eventually agreed to reduce the bill by half if I would settle for that otherwise they would treat my complaint as unresolved and I would have to pay the full amount. As I thought that was unfair and other people would also get caught I refused to accept their offer. I was advised to contact Bunnings which I am doing. I believe a reputable company should not be involved in this type of practise.

I also got billed from Telstra for this number (we are with Optus). One for 43 seconds and one for 1 min 26 seconds. Although it was only for $5.90, the fact that somebody is making money out of something like this, is concerning. I think this is set up like a Reverse Charge scam thing?? Telstra were adamant we had made calls to this number when we absolutely did not!! Optus have offered to pay this amount but the fact that Telstra appear to be not the least bit concerned sort of makes sense.... Think how much money they would lose!!!

I have been billed by ENGIN for an alleged call to 1902299931. It is listed as.

1902299931 06 Nov (Time)20:53:03 (Duration Minutes)00:15:27 $ 59.87 $ 0.00 $ 59.87.

1902 is listed as a "Premium Call" and remains unidentified. We never call anyone at such a late hour unless it is absolutely necessary. It is BOGUS.

This company is using dubious practices by duping people into progressing entries to winning a Bunnings voucher and maximising the time you spend on the phone with them. People should steer clear of such blatantly devious tactics.

I'm an 87 year old and I've been charged $236.291 which Telstra will only repay $165...I have definitely not been on the phone for 1 hour as Telstra has suggested.

Same thing happened to my wife I was away she did not make the call cost $45. Telstra no help.

After speaking with Telstra about this, they advised that it is a company called "Trivia Media", and that we needed to contact them with regards to credits.

I have read on another site that this 'company' reverse charges it calls, and thus it becomes a call that you accept/make and in turn you pay for it.

The only number Telstra could provide me was the 1902 299 931 number, and stated that they charge at $3.xx per minute.

Unfortunately, if you do not answer and your call goes to messagebank, you ultimately accept the call and all they need to do is leave the phone off the hook.

I wonder if the ACMA could investigate this number / 'company'...
