Received text message from this number in relation to an overdue electicity account with origin in December 2016. I knew it was a scam as I don't use origin as my provider.
I keep getting messages on mobile wifi from this number telling me my gas account is overdue. Apart from the fact I only have electricity - this is annoying and bogus.
Got the same message saying gas will be disconnected if overdue gas account is not paid. First message received on Tuesday 23 Feb 2016 and a second one on Thursday 25 Feb 2016.
Received an email from "Origin Energy" claiming I had an unpaid amount of $480.56. I nearly fell for the fact that it is a 1300 number and phoned it.
The accent was too contrived and they started asking me for details of DOB, etc.
I ended the call.
I suspect they would have attempted to have me pay by credit card.
This 1300 138 378 does not appear anywhere on the Origin website.
BE WARNED !!!
I have received 2 txt message approx 10 days apart claiming I have an over due origin energy account. The thing is that each text included an account number, but they were both different. Also, I don't have an origin account my supplier is from a different company. SCAM.., DO NOT BE FOOLED PEOPLE. Save your money.
