Repeated Solar Survey Calls from 08 9985 0929
One contributor has reported receiving calls from 08 9985 0929 (also written as 0899850929) presenting as a fake survey to set up solar installation sales conversations. The caller, identified as a woman, initiated what appeared to be a market research survey but disconnected immediately when the contributor declined participation, hanging up without a standard goodbye.
This Western Australian number allocated to NetSIP Pty Ltd exhibits a repeated-calls pattern, indicating the contributor received multiple contact attempts rather than a single isolated call.
What the Caller from 08 9985 0929 Presented
The call from 0899850929 came across as a survey introduction, though the contributor assessed it as a false survey designed to qualify potential customers for solar sales follow-up. When the recipient stated they didn't wish to participate in the survey, the caller's immediate disconnection without farewell or explanation suggests a scripted lead-generation operation rather than genuine market research.
Call Pattern and Behaviour
The contributor reported that 08 9985 0929 made repeated contact attempts, indicating this wasn't an accidental single call. The abrupt hang-up on rejection is a notable behaviour pattern - legitimate surveys typically thank respondents regardless of participation decision. This combination of repeated calls and rude termination suggests an automated or high-volume operation focused purely on conversion rather than customer service.

What Our Users Reviewed
A survey that I strongly believe was a fake survey, to set up a sales call about solar. When I said I didn't want to take part the woman immediately hung up without saying goodbye.
Reckoned it was a survey but pretty sure it was a setup for a solar sales pitch, woman hung up straight away when I said no thanks

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Is 08 9985 0929 a legitimate survey company?
Based on the community report for 0899850929, this appears to be a fake survey used as a lead-generation tactic for solar sales. The contributor noted the immediate hang-up when declining participation is inconsistent with legitimate market research, which typically thanks respondents regardless of outcome. Real surveys don't typically disconnect abruptly or use repeated calls as described for 08 9985 0929.
Why did the caller from 08 9985 0929 hang up so abruptly?
The abrupt hang-up without goodbye from 0899850929 suggests the operation is purely transaction-focused. Once the contributor stated they wouldn't participate, the caller had no further use for the call and disconnected immediately. This behaviour is typical of high-volume sales operations rather than genuine research, indicating 08 9985 0929 is likely a lead qualification line.
What should I do if 0899850929 keeps calling me?
First, add 08 9985 0929 to your phone's block list. Second, register your number with the Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au - this legally prevents most telemarketing contact. If calls from 0899850929 continue after 30 days, report the number to ACMA at acma.gov.au. You can also report the experience to Reverseau to help other Australians.
Can I trust any information provided by the caller from 08 9985 0929?
No. The contributor's assessment that 0899850929 is a fake survey is supported by the caller's behaviour - legitimate research doesn't use false pretences or hang up rudely on non-participants. If you're interested in solar quotes, contact installers directly rather than responding to unsolicited calls from 08 9985 0929.
Why does 08 9985 0929 use repeated calls?
The repeated-calls pattern from 0899850929 is a common lead-generation tactic. By calling multiple times, the operation increases the chance of reaching someone willing to engage with the fake survey, which then qualifies them for solar sales follow-up. This persistence is why blocking 08 9985 0929 and registering with the Do Not Call Register is important.
Who operates 08 9985 0929?
The number 0899850929 is allocated to NetSIP Pty Ltd, a local service provider in Western Australia. However, this does not mean NetSIP itself is responsible - the number may be used by a third-party telemarketing or lead-generation company. If you believe 08 9985 0929 is being misused, report it to ACMA at acma.gov.au.
