Just got a voicemail this morning saying that there a warrant out for my arrest due to tax fraud! I called them back and no one answered. Then called them again and got through to an Indian guy who took my name then started saying that I owed 2900 from 2011 -2016, I wasn't even in the country the majority of that time. No security done on the phone, it's a complete scam. They are obviously just trying to get people to pay them the money. I'm going to report them. Don't fall for the scam!!
I just got an automated call from this number also stating I was under investigation for fraud. I tried to call back but no answer. This is the second time this has happened to me but the first time I actually had someone speaking to me.

Got the machine call that said I was involved in Tax fraud and an arrest warrant was out for me and for me or my Attorney to call them back and speak to officer Steve White of the ATO.
First thing that rung bells that in this was fraud was that "Attorney" is a very American term and not used in Australia where we have lawyers. When I rang the number "Steve White" ended up having a very Indian Accent, I don't know any male Indians with the surname "White". He said he was an officer with the ATO and he had an arrest and seize warrant for me. I knew then that it was a hoax, because ATO officers can't execute a warrant, they have to have a court order and a State or Federal police officer has to execute it usually with a knock on your front door. Also being a Western Australian number I knew that State police would not handle this case.
Get a call from this number then just hang up.

I received the same call on my mobile. I conferenced him in with the ATO office. He hung up! -- Lol.
I too received a call from this dude. First a recorded message. I knew it was fraud so I called back, he asked my name, I said no buddy, who are you? He swore at me and hung up. Then the number was switched off, or something. Anyway, I couldn't call back. I know govt depts can be terse, but pretty sure they don't swear and hang up !

They told me I was under investigation for tax fraud and my house is under surveillance. I told them this is not possible; I am complaint and very small operation. They wanted more details on me and my business and when I refused and told them to speak to my accountant they hung up and blocked me. Incredible.

Just got called at work by this number. Left it to voicemail. I didn't catch the start but the surveillance, possible prosecution etc. Rubbish I did hear in the message. Tell him he's dreamin.
I received the same phone call. I first got left a message and got hung up. Because I was a bit disturbed by this and thought they already have my phone number I called back. The indian man had my name address and phone number. He got really aggressive with me when I asked what this was about. He told me that my house was under surveillance and the ato had been trying to contact me. That I need a solicitor and I am going down for tax fraud. I laughed, and he hung up. I called again and I was blocked.
It's a fake ATO scam. Block the call or have fun with them by stringing them on. Record it and share it on social media for all to laugh. DO NOT SHARE any of your info with them!
Man called and left message claiming to be from the legal dept. Of the ATO and that there is a pending case against my name. (They did not say my name nor did they say theirs). The man, with a strong Indian accent, went on to say that my house was under surveillance and that I need to call back to avoid possible legal prosecution.
