Someone with UK accent called and told me about a scam with my bank account and told me to call this number. Tried to get the last 4 digits of my account as well.

Told him I will call the number if it is listed in the bank's website and he hung up immediately.

I received a call at 2:30 AM from someone who claimed to be from Australia, speaking with a UK accent. They asked for my username and had details about an address I know, but it was unrelated to my account. HSBC has confirmed that this number is associated with a scam.

I just experienced a similar call from a private number that reached out multiple times. The caller claimed he was from Ubank’s fraud team and had several of my details. He requested the last four digits of my debit card and even asked for my PIN. He sent a verification code via a message that came from a conversation linked to my Ubank secure messages. The caller had a British accent and was a male.

He called me 3 times during office hours. I did not answer any of them. No voicemails were left, and no SMS were received, explaining why they were calling. I had no emails nor app messaging from anyone to indicate someone was trying to reach me. I called the number back around midnight to see if they have an IVR system, and they did not. It just rang out for a long time. He rang again today. I answered so I could get to the bottom of it. He voluntarily provided my real full name, and mentioned he was from Ubank's investigations department. He didn't make me confirm anything else and started discussing my debit card. He said there were suspicious attempted charges on my debit card and provided the last 4 digits of my card. So at this point he knows my name, my number, the bank I am with, and the last 4 digits of my card. I don't confirm anything and let him continue speaking. He said the suspicious charges were blocked and he needs to check if they were genuine or fraudulent. He says they were from CoinSpot, a cryptocurrency website. At this point I had already figured it was a scam and told him I'd just call my bank directly and talk to them. He tried to keep me going and offered to send an SMS that confirms he is from Ubank. I hung up. I called Ubank and they confirmed that there were NO blocked charges on my card, and NO ONE from their fraud department had been trying to contact me. They have now replaced my card.
