The caller from this number instantly hung up as soon as I answered the phone. The number remains active, but it did not seem legitimate.
The caller claimed to be a representative from PayPal and asked about a funds transfer transaction that I did not authorize or initiate. I believe this is a scam call trying to obtain my personal information.
I suspect this was a scam call since I've seen similar reports from others. The caller was very polite but had a thick accent that made it hard for me to understand him. He mentioned something about saving $4,000 a year on insulation, originally saying it was a NSW government initiative for commercial properties. When I told him I don’t own a commercial property, he switched to saying it applied to all residents. Additionally, the number does not have a NSW area code.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. They hung up when I informed them that the primary user of the account was my son and that he was not home at the moment.
The caller claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank and mentioned there was an unauthorized withdrawal from my account. However, I don't even have an account with Commonwealth Bank. This raised a red flag for me, suggesting it might be a scam.
Called me & left no message when I didn't pick up, presumably a scam.

They left a voicemail stating that I had made an online shopping transaction for $1399 and urged me to press 1 to approve it. However, upon checking my cards, there were no charges. This is clearly a scam.
Recorded message purportedly from Amazon Prime stating my account will be renewed and auto debited to my credit card. Definitely a scam as I do not have an Amazon Prime account.
I answered the phone, and the person on the other end was speaking in Chinese, which I couldn't understand.
I suspected that this call was a scam, so I chose not to answer. Based on reports I've seen, it seems my intuition was correct. It raises a question: why aren’t phone companies or the government working to disconnect numbers that are frequently reported as scams?
