I asked how she got my name and number and she said off a data base. I contacted my friend and she said another of her friends got the same call asking about them.
Debt collectors. Said they are from a financial institute. Called me asking for my wife who used to work with the person they were after; scary how public our contact details are.
Received a call to our office phone asking if we knew Andrew Konefel, and needing to speak to a particular person - wouldn't say what it was about or give any information, just wanted to speak to this staff member about Andrew. Tried to call back on a private number and it was not a valid phone number.
Received an odd call from Nicky wanting to get in contact with my best friends' daughter's partner that lives 5 hours away and said it was personal. Called me on my work number! I asked how she found we were connected and she said it was public record. Totally suspicious!
Asked did I know this person called Cristian. But it if was me when I answered and I said yes so she knew my name. Asked me twice if I knew this man I said not. Then said I am letting you know this call is being recorded. Why do they waste their time. Oh and she sounded as nice as they come. Didn't get her name tho.
Caller named Nikki - asking if I had contact details for some one and my phone number came up on their data base saying I know this persons brother (which I know they don't have a brother) definitely sounded like a scam kept asking me if I know where a certain someone was and to pass on contact details to them.
She phoned and left a message to give her a call, but didn’t state where she was calling from or why she tried contacting me. Why would you ask someone to randomly call back if you don’t know who they are and reason for your call?? She definitely is trying to scam people. She has an Australian accent.
