    Pretending to be Amazon Customer Service to scam your credit cards. I called them back 5 times telling them I am from the Amazon Security team investigating customer complains, and strangely they told me to stop calling them.

    Called me while my phone was on silent, leaving a voicemail claiming that my Amazon package will arrive in 2-3 days. The first message was “59 dollars, and the same will be delivered in an hour. Your package will be delivered within 2-3 days via Amazon agent. If you have not placed the order, or any issues related to online shopping, please call 61 3 4418 0686 or press 1 to speak with our representative, or to cancel the order by pressing 2, thank you” and the second one was the exact same excluding the money at the beginning. I’m assuming it was cut off from sending a scam voicemail to someone before me. They called yesterday at 4:54 pm and called today at 12:19 pm. They’re from Brooke, Western Australia and are using a female robot voice. The recording was 25 seconds long and I have never ordered anything from Amazon before. And I don’t have an Amazon account either, and I don’t even remember my own phone number off by heart so I highly doubt I could’ve entered it for anything. I don’t even have a bank account as I’m a minor. Amazon would never do anything like this or go to all this trouble to leave a voicemail. I highly doubt they’d call again the next day if they were actually the real Amazon. They wouldn’t have so much time on their hands as a big company to be giving you the option to speak to a “representative” the exact second you pressed 1.

    This number left a message about an Amazon package on my partners phone. I think they tried to call him because they left robotic voice message about money being debuted from his account and some Amazon agent coming to our house in the next few days. I have ordered from Amazon recently and this is not how they operate. It’s definitely a scam especially with the robotic voice. So many scammers use robotic voices nowerdays.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
