I have been ignoring calls from this unknown number for a while since they never leave a message. They call me once a day, and after reading similar complaints from others, I think I'll block them soon.
When I inquired about the Do Not Call register during the call, the caller informed me that charities are exempt from this regulation. This raised my concerns, as I believe this might be a scam.
Jack (Indian accent speaker), apparently from National Broadband Network.
He said: They had been receiving numerous complaints about internet speed and asked me what my download and upload speed was.
I said: I don't know.
He said: well can you check it.
I said: No sorry I can't.
He said: Why can't you go and turn it on and look at it. (in a rather irate voice)
I said: Because I'm not home.
He said: Well I'll call you back in 30 minutes then.
I said: I still won't be home then.
He said: He'd call me tomorrow.
I said: Great, do that, hung up and blocked the number.
The male caller claimed to be a fundraiser for the Salvation Army during the call I received on June 20, 2023.
I have been getting calls from this same number consistently on both my mobile and home phone (yep still have one). They never leave a message except for today. All I heard was "Hello is (my name) there?". My guess... Marketing business after buying and registering something. Apple Corp would be my main suspect.
