    Not answering this unknown number because they don't leave a message and they keep calling once a day every day. About to block them after reading other's comments here.

    Jack (Indian accent speaker), apparently from National Broadband Network.

    He said: They had been receiving numerous complaints about internet speed and asked me what my download and upload speed was.

    I said: I don't know.

    He said: well can you check it.

    I said: No sorry I can't.

    He said: Why can't you go and turn it on and look at it. (in a rather irate voice)

    I said: Because I'm not home.

    He said: Well I'll call you back in 30 minutes then.

    I said: I still won't be home then.

    He said: He'd call me tomorrow.

    I said: Great, do that, hung up and blocked the number.

    I have been getting calls from this same number consistently on both my mobile and home phone (yep still have one). They never leave a message except for today. All I heard was "Hello is (my name) there?". My guess... Marketing business after buying and registering something. Apple Corp would be my main suspect.

    This is a debt collector. They continually call me in relation to an employee. I have told them numerous times to stop calling me. They need to speak to the employee not me. These calls have been going on for 10 months.

    I tried calling them and they would not tell me the name of their company "for privacy reasons" yet the can call me and ask for an employee of our company.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
