The number 07 3805 8383 / 0738058383 has recently come under scrutiny as users report receiving unsolicited calls that raise questions about their legitimacy. Based on user experiences, this phone number appears to be associated with a suspicious telemarketing operation that employs tactics reminiscent of health-related scams.

Reported Encounter

One notable review from 11 October 2016 describes a call where the recipient, an elderly individual, was approached with claims of their eligibility for additional health support. The caller requested sensitive information about health conditions, such as sleep and breathing issues, and implied urgency with limited appointment availability. When questioned about her government affiliation and the source of funding, the caller became evasive, which heightened the scepticism surrounding the legitimacy of the call.

Classification and Analysis

Given this interaction, it's reasonable to classify 07 3805 8383 / 0738058383 as a suspicious number, potentially linked to a telemarketing scheme that may exploit vulnerable individuals, particularly seniors. Such strategies often involve:

  • Asking intrusive questions about health that could compromise personal information.
  • Pushing recipients to make hasty decisions regarding appointment bookings.
  • Utilising high-pressure sales tactics rather than clear, transparent information.

This call's characteristics align with known personal data scams where telemarketers target vulnerable populations by polling for personal health information under the guise of legitimate health services.

How to Handle Calls from This Number

If you receive a call from 07 3805 8383 / 0738058383, or similar numbers, consider the following actions:

  • Consider using Reverseau to get more insight into the caller's identity and background.
  • Report any suspicious calls to the appropriate authorities to help protect others from potential scams.

While not every telemarketer poses a threat, it’s crucial to remain vigilant and sceptical regarding unsolicited calls that claim to offer essential services, particularly those concerning health issues.

By staying informed and cautious, you can help safeguard yourself and your loved ones against such dubious schemes.

Had a call this morning and was told that because I am in my 70s I am eligible for additional help according to my health details, she asked me if I suffered from sleep problems, breathing problems etc.

I asked if she was with the government and where this funding was coming from, she said she had only two appointments available to discuss things with me. I refused as I thought it was a bit dodgy.
