It’s King Kong Marketing. A guy claimed I expressed interest in buying their book back in 2019 and the owner Sabri Suby asked him to call me (along with 100s of other folks no doubt) to see if I’m still interested growing my client base. Sure Jan.
I was getting calls from this number daily - says potential spam/fraud call. Couldn't find any information about it so today decided to answer so we could all know what it is once and for all. It was some guy who said they're from a company called "King Cole", alleging I'd tried to purchase a book from them back in 2019 but for whatever reason I didn't end up purchasing. He asked if I wanted him to send me some "free training" to build my business and get me "5-80 high value clients". I asked what the high value clients were for and he said "your business". I said while on the phone I did a quick search for the company on Google and the results were for a yarn company. I said I don't have a yarn business. That threw him off and he said "this is just a courtesy call to see if you want free training to get 5-80 high value clients for your business". I said again that I don't have a yarn business so don't need any number of clients for it and asked them to take me off their list.
I have received three calls from this number on different dates—August 24, 2023, at 4:53 PM, August 25, 2023, at 2:26 PM, and August 28, 2023, at 11:58 AM. They did not leave a voicemail at any time, and when I tried calling back, no one answered.
I have received multiple voicemails from this caller, who knows my name and keeps asking if I am available. I rarely remember signing up for anything with my personal information.
I received three calls from this number within a 24-hour period, which I consider to be spam. I have taken the step to block the caller.
A guy just called me from this number and said 'Is this (my name)?' and then hung up. Seems like a scam. I hope they don't have my voice now!
When I answered the call, the person identified themselves as Mark from King Kong. I told them I was unfamiliar with what that was, but they insisted they were calling to assist me with my business. I never requested assistance or any services related to my business. There was also a noticeable delay of about 5 to 10 seconds before they responded, which sounded like a pre-recorded message.
