Sounds like a scam. Caller identified themselves as from Telstra saying that my computer had recorded a download of files containing viruses and that they wanted to protect my computer from infection. I asked them for a number to call them back once I was in front of my computer they gave me 07 3040 7287. I called and it rang out. They called straight back and the woman said "You just called this number" No other identification. I said I was calling them back about my computer downloading some suspect files. She said she would put me through to her supervisor. He told me that Telstra had detected viruses entering through their gateway onto our computer and to sit in front of my computer while he talked me through the process of getting rid of these files. When I asked how they got this information and told them Telstra wasn't my internet provider they hung up. Then the lady called me back and when I answered she said "Whats wrong?" After much debate I asked for her Telstra ID number and she began with TL811 then I told her their ID numbers don't begin with TL and then she hung up.

I got a phone caller (Indian) saying they were from Telstra and that my internet will be shut off by the end of the day because of malicious software coming from my PC. As soon as the person asked me if I was in front of a computer, warning bells went off and I told them I am not going to any internet addresses for them. I asked for a phone number and name. I got this phone number and the name Robyn. I asked for a Telstra ID and this person kept talking and I never got one. I said I would ring my own ISP and sort it out thanks and then hung up. Seriously over these scams.
