Just had very similar experience from other people. Someone called Dominique (with an 'overseas' accent) phoned to say someone had been involved in a serious accident. I hung up immediately as I suspected it was a scam, but was still quite shaken. I phoned all my family before googling it. Will contact police too.
Got a call from this number making false allegations that I have been involved in a serious car accident. LIES, SCAMS, FAKERS, Stop the scammers.
Just got a call at 3.51pm today 02/12/17, from this number with an overseas female voice stating that she was calling from "accident helpline". I said oh me goodness has someone been in an accident? Yes she said from this number. No I said. She then asked who in the house has just be involved in a serious car accident, no-one I replied.
She then went on with someone has reported a serious car crash for (*note how word has now changed to "for" not "from") this number. No I said and hung up.
Checked my phone tracker to check my children were at their homes.
Called around to a couple of my children who were at work just to make sure everyone was okay, second daughter Krystal asked for the number, (07 3046782), told me that she had had a call a few days back on the work line and she told the caller that she knew they were a scam because this was not a home number.
I thanked Krystal and saved their fake scam number in my phone for safe guard alerts to probable future calls.
Call at 5.30pm from Ellis (?) saying they had received notification that someone at my address with my number had been in an accident. I asked where she had got my number, she said from another dept, so I advised that I knew it was a scam and that I would be reporting the number to scamwatch. She didn't care.
Caller claimed to be from Accident Helpline asking if I had been involved in a car accident in the last 12 months. I believe this was a scam call. I note that Accident Helpline's webpage has a warning about scam callers pretending to be from their organisation.
