    Persistent messages and calls from "Origin Energy" about an overdue bill on either an energy account or water account. Numbers seem to check out with Origin so it is a good scam but a scam none the less. Never had an Origin account so easy pick-up for myself but be careful.

    I think it was a legitimate call from origin about unpaid electric/gas bills. Automated call, possible option to pay, or "will pay within 14 days" etc.

    Robot calling for origin energy. If you answer it goes nowhere but they know it's a live NBR. Then a human calls you from a MBL NBR soon after. Don't answer.

    They are calling me to make payment on a ridiculously low amount. Ive already mad3 substantial payments. They've never called me before with larger amounts. Anyway its all automated. It's asking me to put in my card details to finalise the last low amount. I'm not doing it. I make my payments through my app. Or if I call them on their proper number.

    It's a scam.

    Origin never do this.

    I keep getting repeated calls from this number all the time.

    They say it's about my energy but I don't pay my bill directly, I'm a subtenant paying for electricity in rent.

    When I say this they apologize and hang up. The calls never stop.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
