Crime syndicate.
Calling up asking money from us for a disability Charity.
Then use fake names, set up different phone numbers then disconnect them, they move from state to state same voice with different fake names. This has been going on for 2 years and nothing gets done about it.. Probably police officers involved with the syndicate to cover up the crimes.
I received a text message from this number. It had my first name, and went on to say "I tried texting and calling you." Then it listed my phone number with my country code first. It stated my "number (mobile) was this weeks Winner of our Cash Bonus." It then listed a web address followed by a number of upper and lowercase letters.
I typed this into my computer to see what came up. My antivirus program blocked the page with a warning that this was a scam site, and information on this site was likely to be untrue, or a scam.
Definitely a scam. I've had this before. I once clicked on the link and they ask you for money for delivery!
About a delivery needing confirmation and has a link to "TNT" but when you actually take that "tracking number" and put it into TNT tracking page found via Google, it doesn't exist. DON'T click on the link. I didn't - I just previewed the page.
MMS asking me to confirm my details before a shipment is dispatched. No identifying details vis the sender / originator of the message. Checking the link loads an Amazon login page that appears authentic. Never been sent such a message before so this has to be a scam text.
